Life the past few weeks

Last week I spent a couple days with Wes and Lyd and we got a little outside work done! The previous renter was older and didn't have much time for it the last few years, so things are a little overgrown.

I dug out bushels of bulbs and hostas while Lyd pulled up bricks and Wes pulled out bushes with the tractor.

Dan had all three children in the kitchen one evening and turned the old toaster into an educational experience.

Thursday and Friday of this week Lyn and I helped a friend, who is cook at a local Bible Camp with some cooking. I really enjoyed it and am hoping to go again next week to help her another day. I want to go sometime in the summer when they are serving 3 meals a day to about 300 people.

We made pizzas for lunch one day

 and some delicious strawberry shortcake!

A few of the students we were cooking for.

Life on the farm

 Laurel just keeps on growing

 Fresh from the garden goodness!

Dan and the children bringing the cows in to milk them. I decided that the best think about living in a dairy farm is all the fresh from the bulk tank milk!

Home again!

I'm back in MI!
Catching up on sleep, putting 24gb of pictures on my computer, and spending time with my family!

These boys are preparing to get their summer haircuts! :)

Brandon

Sorry, I couldn't help posting a few more pictures of this adorable little boy!

Watching Daddy mow the yard!

Davidson and Amelie's!

Micah and Merry had been wanting to go to Davidson and tour the collage town, and they wanted to take us to Amelie's, a French bakery. So, one evening last week we packed a picnic and headed to town.
That was one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten!

It was mostly dark by the time we got to the collage so the pictures aren't that great. It was beautiful though! Especially by street light!

 Amelie's was amazing!

We managed to find an empty corner and promptly devoured our pastries and drinks.

This is their salted caramel brownie! I do believe it is my new favorite brownie.

More of North Carolina

 Michael, Rhoda and Brandon!

He is all into making hilarious faces right now!

After church yesterday we went to Sloan Park and grilled sausages and played frisbee. It was a lovely day and there were lots of flowering bushes for me to take pictures of. :)

 A typical Brandon expression

Stuffing his mouth with bread! Most of it ended up on the ground.

 Some of the frisbee players

and a couple of the onlookers. I love this child's hair!
